I downloaded this game twice (Finding America 2-The Pacific Northwest CE), and both times, I right clicked to bring up the properties, and unchecked the box, where it said, something about “this file came from another computer, and may be unsafe “. And then after I downloaded the game, and then double clicked on the application file to run the game, it says:
“Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.”
And so both times, I ran a virus check, and both times it comes up with a virus, and then takes the application file away, so I can’t start the game up again.
And so, with the first attempt, I deleted every file and the folder the files were in (starting from scratch), and that’s when I tried downloading the game the second time….where it did the same thing, as the first time.
I’m on a 64-bit, Windows 11 laptop.
I didn’t have any problems with the 1st game (Finding America- The Heartland), and even played that one, for some time.
So I’m wondering, if there’s any advice you could give, on this situation?
Thank You in advance!
P.S. I know this Game-Owl website has been around for a very long time, and wondering what year it began? I also hope it’ll be around for another long time!?

Forgive me going back into the history of games but I always seem to be behind with all these new games appearing. I just wanted to mention that the most difficult game I have played to date is Moontrain (updated July 2022). The original version apparently contained a bug but by the time I have got here it had all been cleared by ASG I don’t know if any of you remember it but I am taking a long time to complete. This maybe in part due to the fact that there is so little advice on offer to assist. Certainly not one for first timers.
Good wishes to all .

I forgive you Ian but please forgive me for commenting on your post.
ASG does its very best to make us as happy as possible by making these games available.
The fact that every now and then there is a game that does not want to work is not due to ASG but to the maker of it.
Also often complaints that the game does not start because, there can be many reasons, but usually the person’s PC or laptop is not up to date with files that are needed to make a PC or laptop work and are therefore not retrieved at “update” from Windows.
If I get something, free or not, I thank that person, it’s so neat.
What strikes me lately is that people only show their nose when there are complaints, so also with you because read your own comment again…..
Especially the sentence: This maybe in part due to the fact that there is so little advice on offer to assist. Certainly not one for first timers.
You haven’t even been to Moontrain to say thank you but complain here?
How are we supposed to know that you can’t do something if nothing is asked?
If there are questions, they really try to help, by anyone…
Sorry for you but I had to get this out Ian.
